Privacy Notice

The Immigration and Population Growth Branch of the Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration collects the Personal Information provided to us on the webpage through the contact form or when you are subscribing for our newsletter as authorised by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Nova Scotia Public Service Act.

We make use of personal information provided to us.

  • To identify individual website visitors or callers and their subsequent inquiries.
  • When you use the contact form to ask us a question, we will use the personal information you provided to answer your question and respond to you directly using the contact information you provided.
  • If another government department or other external partners are required to provide an appropriate response to your inquiry, we will provide your contact information and your inquiry to such government department or external partners so that they can contact you directly with an appropriate response that will help guide you on your inquiry only if you check the consent to disclose your information on this page.
  • If you sign up for our e-newsletter or event, we will use your name and email address to send you the e-newsletter or the event details.
  • Links to other partners' websites or resources may be provided from our page. Because we have no control over such websites, any personal information you provide directly to third-party partners on their websites (e.g. IRCC, ISANS, Job Bank, Career Beacon etc.) is beyond our control, and clients should read the privacy notice available on such partners' websites.
  • If you click on a social media link or image on our web page that takes you to another website, such as Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube etc., those websites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over how they use any personal information you share with them.

 

We use and disclose your personal information for the purposes described above. We may only use or disclose your information for another purpose if we are authorized by law to do so.

By submitting your contact information or making any other request to us (by contacting us via any of our official channels), you acknowledge that the information provided to us is correct and accurate, and you understand that any personal information you provide to us will be collected, used, and disclosed for the purpose of processing your inquiry or request.
